OEM VW Spark Plugs
Your vehicle's engine burns fuel and oxygen to produce power. Your factory Volkswagen spark plugs start the process. How does a spark plug work? Insert your key into its lock cylinder and turn it to trigger its ignition switch. Suddenly, many other ignition parts start working -- everything from your car battery and starter motor to a solenoid and an ignition coil. Together, they "spark" a small electrical charge, sending it to the plug. When that electricity reaches the plug's lead, the air and gas inside your engine ignite. As the mix combusts, it releases power. Your engine pistons pump, your crankshaft gets moving, and your vehicle's many other parts get going. Without a good set of original VW spark plugs, though, that car or SUV you love driving -- it wouldn't start at all. To make things worse, even the best spark plugs can go bad. Their leads can rust and widen, weakening charges to insignificance. Plus, when bad spark plugs aren't otherwise causing engine misfires, they can shut down an engine completely. Broken spark plugs, though, are the worst-case scenario: they usually result in severe engine cylinder damage. Luckily, those made by Volkswagen get built to last, for as many as 100,000 miles. That's millions of ignitions. Just be sure to change any spark plug approaching the mileage limit recommended by your owner's manual.
